Unlike a regular mobile call, Secured Call encrypts the connection for both members of a call. There can be a delay of a few moments while this end-to-end encryption is being established and verified. When placing a Secured Call, the phone may ring a few extra times while the connection of the contact you are calling is encrypted and answered.
If one or both contacts to a Secured Call are on mobile carrier, and not on Wi-Fi, it will take, on average, about seven seconds for the call to connect, and establish and verify encryption. The receiver of the call will answer and establish the encryption is being established and verified.
